Type Locality and Naming

Along the Uzunbulak River, left tributary of the Keltmashat River, Koykebiltayu Mountains, western part of the range Talas Alatau. Z. S. Rumyantseva in 1975 (165, p. 77). Stratotype on the southern slope of Koykebiltayu Mountain

Synonym: Uzunbulak Suite, Узунбулакская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Predominantly medium-bedded organogenic, organogenic-detrital limestones with layers of oolitic, algal varieties. Lenses and nodules of flint are present. Thickness up to 300 m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Koykebiltau Fm

Upper contact

Contacts with the effusives of the Upper Paleozoic with unclear stratigraphic relationships.

Regional extent

Southwestern spurs of the Talas Alatau.
